ABOUT IOMOU

The Indian Ocean MOU is an inter-governmental organization on port State control (PSC) in the Indian Ocean Region, recognized by International Maritime Organization, as specialised UN body.

Our vision

To eliminate substandard shipping in the Indian Ocean Region and maintain inter-regional co-operation and harmonization among other MOUs

Our mission

To promote the effective implementation of an improved and harmonised system of port State Control by uniform applications of the relevant IMO/ILO instruments on ships operating in the region.
